We’re a family business, started by Chris in 2015, after eight years of working with some of the Manawatu’s best builders. Chris did his apprenticeship here in the Manawatu and continues to work and serve our fantastic community. We believe the details matter, good old-fashioned service, knowledge and experience and of course outstanding craftsmanship. Our attention to detail and passion for quality are what set us apart from the rest.

SO WHY IS CHOOSING AN LBP IMPORTANT?

Being an LBP allows us to carry out or supervise restricted building work, which includes important and critical residential building work. Holding an LBP license shows you that Chris meets a minimum standard of competency in carpentry and this allows you to have confidence in his knowledge and skill.

WHY IS CHOOSING A REGISTERED MASTER BUILDER IMPORTANT?

Choosing to use a master builder means that you are choosing quality. To become a master builder, certain quality criteria must be met, including building experience, trade and professional qualification and on-site management experience. And, only a Master Builder can offer you peace of mind with a 10- Year Master Build Guarantee on residential work.

OUR PROCESS

  • Consultation

    We meet you on site to discuss the possibilities for your new home and explain the building process.
    By meeting on site, we can make a preliminary assessment of your land characteristics such as slope, orientation, views and planning requirements.
  • Design and Estimation

    We discuss your vision and recommend the architect that is best suited to your needs, then work as a team to achieve the best design.
    If you already have your own plans, we can review them with you.
    At this stage, we prepare a complimentary estimate of costs for your consideration and will offer a holding deposit to book in your project.
  • Selections

    Working with our Project Manager, you make the relevant selections required for the start of construction.
    We take you through the options for fixtures and finishes to incorporate your design and lifestyle requirements into your home.
    When you are satisfied with the design, we finalise the documentation for construction, including working drawings, engineering design, and planning approvals.
  • Preliminary Agreement

    We prepare a Preliminary Agreement, which includes a detailed Cost Analysis based on the initial design and your requirements (for a modest fee).
    This is yours to keep.
  • Contract Execution

    We prepare the Master Builders contract for you to sign, then finalise the start and completion dates.
    Once signed, we provide a construction program and a payment schedule for you to review and confirm.
  • The Build

    Once building consents are approved, we start the build as per the construction program.
    The Project Manager oversees construction to ensure our material and workmanship standards are met.
    Once building has commenced, weekly client meetings are held on site with the Project Manager to discuss progress.
  • Handover

    We want you to love your new home. Before we handover the keys, we complete a final walkthrough together to rectify anything that needs attention, to ensure you are happy with all aspects.
    Once completed, a final inspection is booked through the Council and Code of Compliance documents are collected, submitted, and passed.
    You will then be the proud owner of your forever home.
  • Maintenance

    Our commitment to you doesn’t finish when we hand over the keys.
    We attend to maintenance issues after 90 days, and again after one year of completion of the build.
    We want to make sure your house is at its highest quality after cycling through all four seasons.
    We will also make any adjustments or rectify any defects for 24 months from Handover.
